This is a small DDR I just finished. Blade was hand rubbed out to 2000 grit. I then heated the bolsters on my electric stove until they turned a beautiful golden color. But after I started working with this slab of She-Oak I decided to make this one bolsterless. I love this chunk of wood.

Pic of the blade is lousy and I'll try to get a better one.

I made a back spacer from the same slab and it turned out just right.

Jar;
That looks great! I think you made the right choice going bolsterless. What type of wood did you say that was? I like it. Paul

I agree! Beautiful wood, great looking handle. (Although I would like to have seen the colored bolster).
Sweet knife...

Beautiful looking knife. How about some info on coloring the bolsters. I'd love to try it on mine.

Gotta agree, Jim. Although the bolster WILL look good an another, this one hasn't lost any appeal. I've used wood on the last three knives as a backspacer, and it not only works easily, it LOOKS good completed!
Get us some better shots, man! Get the reflections out of that blade and close-ups!!!
Good work!
