I decided to reshape the handle on the EV and to color the bolsters. Since I don't have anything fancy like a blow torch, I placed them on a burner of the electric stove and heated them suckers up. I had some grease or lube on one which burned off and left a small watermark like place on one side.

Originally, the bolsters had been polished but I wanted them dull for this, so I scored them with medium emory paper before heating them.

WOW! I'm impressed. I've been wondering lately: "Where are the EV4N1's ??" Well, here is one.
The colors work well together, and I like your handle. BTW--mine is on my pocket right now, as (today's!) EDC and it's working great!
Thanks for the inspiration and tips!

Great Job!

Hey I've been seeing some great pics over on gunforums.
I don't know if I dare try the screws. The bolsters were one of those "I can't get to sleep so let's try this at 3AM" experiments. As I said, there must have been some lube left in the screw holes or back side because soon had lot's of smoke and interesting smells. That's when all three of the smoke alarms started screaming. I'm sure the folks that live in the apartment above me are thrilled.

jar,
Just wipe the parts down with acetone and let them dry for a few minutes. It dries very fast. Then don't touch them. The first time I did coloring I had a real nice fingerprint on one bolster.
