Thought you guys would like to know,,,,,, DEMOs for the Jan. meeting are, hopefully, John Hege will demo silver inlay, Cap Hayes will demo titanium coloring, Barry and Phillip Jones will show how to tie a Turks head knot as a guard on a Japanese style blade and Eric Luther will do some other cord tying . If time permits I will attempt a solder job using torch and heat gun. The demo on the turks head will be a HANDS ON so bring a good length of cord. POP will be here IF he is not commited to another show. Talked to him last night and he is looking forward to being with us..We have a lot to do thish meeting so lets get started early. Board Meetin at 8:30am. Let me know if there is anything I left out. Trav

If we bring a suitable blade do we get a hands on with the turks head? Is this the last or first bit of handle work that should be done or is it somewhere in-between?

I was wondering the same thing. I have a blade that would be a perfect canidate. Just didn't know if I should go ahead and do the handle wrap.
Hey Cap, Great minds think alike.

The Turk's Head knots usually get tied on over top of the handle wrap, although, sometimes they get tied to the side of the wrap. Anyway, you should have the wrap done prior to tying the Turk's Head.

You'll be able to get your knot going whether you've got the handle wrapped or not.
