Has anyone ever soldered bronze?

I have had no trouble soldering brass, red brass, nickle silver, mild steel, copper, and even stainless.

I was putting a bronze gard on a damascus blade and couldn't get the solder to stick to the bronze to save my life! I wound up makeing a solderless gard as I realy wanted a bronze gard-will be a Scagel style handle.

This was my first bronze gard and have not heard of any problems. Any ideas?
