Three pieces from TrackRock [Archive] - The Knife Network Forums : Knife Making Discussions

When you come to any knife event in Georgia you can happen up on some really nice work by our talented makers. I know Rick is from out of state but since he is a TrackRock regular we have adopted him in Georgia. I am not sure of the material---Carl, Rick, help here please---but these are very nice. Even my friends who are not normally knife folks have told me to keep my eye out for a peice for them.

If not this piece, one very similar to it will be in the hands of my son-in-law for Father's Day. When he saw these 3 pieces on the table waiting to be photographed he was drawn to the fixed blade shown here by Rick Lowe.

Avery wanted to know if this piece by Carl was his reward for making straight A's this year. When I told him maybe in a few years, he said he'd just get Carl to help him forge out one at the next TrackRock. He does have ambition.

I'm looking forward to the Blade Show. Avery and I will be there going over all the peices and enjoying seeing all of you guys again.

Great pics Joan! I think you get better every time, if that's possible. Always looking forward to the next ones you post.

I could tell you the particulars on RLo's knives (I know where the handle material came from), but they are examples of his fine work. He should tell. They are excellent handling knives. I particularly like the black walnut (oops) brown handled (2nd) knife. By the way he just finished another nice dagger. Maybe he'll bring down to the Blade.

Blade - random damascus from an earlier Trackrock Midnight Madness Forging Party with Mark "Chicken Toes" Williams.
Fittings - Eggerly Mosaic damascus and stainless steel (electrical knockouts from a Nema 4 panel)
Handle - Burl white oak from the firewood pile with accent spacers of african blackwood.
I believe the filework on the spine is a double leaf vine pattern.
The sheath is one of my novice attempts to utilize some of the things I have learned at the knee of the Master of Moo (how am I doing Dad?).
