I decided to do a little filework to this one, the balance is about dead perfect, about 1/8" back from the guard

That's a nice looking knife Stephan! Nice lines that flow well with the eye.
I don't see a "Maker's Mark" on the blade. Are you going to etch it in later?
Work like that needs to be marked.

your correct carl, it is not etched in yet, i JUST got my templates setup and have started etching my mark

it's the very last thing i do after sharpening, repolishing, making the a sheath, etc

Stephen, you might want to think about sharpening after the logo is etched. Sometimes those stencils screw up all by them selves with no prior warning and you have to polish out the screwed up mark. It is much safer to do on a dull knife than a sharp one. I also test each stencil each time I use it to give my self better odds that it won't mess up a blade. All it takes is a crack in the coating and you have a mark where you don't want it. I really like the looks of the Bowie too. :D
