hey guys

at the last meeting sandy morrissey offered for anyone interested in learning leather work and making sheaths to come on up to blairsville and he would be glad to help. i got the chance to do that this weekend. sandy was a great host and made me feel right at home. he took his time to give me instructions and tips on how to make my sheaths better and nicer looking.

after instructions, he let me try my hand at what he taught me

and when needed he showed me how to correct my mistakes.

as if spending time with sandy was not enough, i found out he knew long time friends of mine, chuck and peggy patrick. i had not seen them in many years so we set out to travel the few miles into north carolina to look them up.

after we spent time catching up with each other

we set about to just have a good time

even when the snake got in the hen-house. that was a BIG snake--and he got away but we set out a good plan for next time.

Sandy, what can i say except that you might as well get used to seeing me often. Chusk and i go back about 30 years when we both took our first smithing class at JCFS. we have spent many hours together since then. John, you are right .Sandy is a hooooooottt. And thanks to you and the Georgia guild, another wonderful thing happened in my life. I look forward to many more years with you all. By the way, only seven more working days and i will retire. you guys better watch out then.

Travis, either will do just fine in the contribution field----as long as you help me eliminate or rescue them from the chilly confines of my refrigerator--------!

Heck Dad, you could just keep us "posted-up" as you travel. I know it's going to be a great adventure. To bad you don't have a '54 Studebaker to tour in, Fozzy Bear style.
Be safe, we want you back in one piece.

Travis - We're glad to have you aboard. You make good company. You can learn more in one session with Sandy than you could pick up in full semester at a trade school......and have more fun doing it, too!!

Carl thanks fo the kind words. trouble with what you pick up with sandy is that sometimes you cant share it with mixed company

Yeah, that's why I usually either visit him by myself or meet JC there.
Glad you could spend some time with him.

Hey Sandy, not to worry.....I found that little timber rattler in the back of my truck when I got home. He got tired of hiding inside the bed liner (or too hot) and came out on his own accord. Safely released him in good territory, away from highways and homes.
Had a great visit as usual.
