Thank you so much for being there steve.

05-01-2007, 03:22 AM
Great to have you there, Rex. Maybe next yr., huh? You should have asked and I could have found one or two for you to look at, for sure. I'm sorry! Next year, let's plan on it, OK? Let me know about a DVD, if interested, OK?

Thanks again.

05-01-2007, 08:54 AM
Thanks Steve! With the speed of everything going on that day sometimes you forget the simple things like asking, I will make sure next time!
And yes will be getting the check in the mail.

Thanks again, Rex

05-01-2007, 09:58 AM
OK, we'll do that next yr. Will look for the check. Thanks!

05-06-2007, 09:26 PM
Do you always do the Blade show? Hmm maybe i'll have to figure out a way to make it there...long shot though

05-06-2007, 11:47 PM
Hey Miss Bernie! Your mising the biggest and best Knife Show on earth!!! Mike

05-07-2007, 10:23 AM
I'm thinking seriously about making it an annual event. At least this year, we'll do it. I attended the show the first year that I was Guild Sec., for the pre-Guild Show directors' meeting. Then it dawned on me that I just as well get a table and pay for the expenses by selling a knife or two, so we got tables for the last two years of my board membership. It's a wonderful exhibition of every thing having to do with knives. Love the town and the area and that southern hospitality. Great folks!

05-30-2007, 07:57 PM
FYI: Our table at the Blade Show is number 11-L
We'll have about 6-8 knives.

Looking forward to meeting you and seeing your knives Steve
What patterns are the knives you are bringing?

Have a safe trip too Atlanta.

Take Care

Here's what I'll be bringing to Atlantz
A Lamb Utility; a Loveless pattern with giraffe bone
Two little non-folding pocket knife-sized knives, one with a wharncliff blade and another with a clip-point, like the one here, numbered 001 and 002: 001 has mammoth ivory and 002 has stag
A baby Bill's Drop with desert ironwood
A Loveless-style Drop with the most beautiful stag I've seen for a while!
A Semi-skinner with a Loveless handle with pomelle Bubinga wood, deep red color
A Loveless-style Backpacker with super Chittam wood, very nice stuff!
A slightly oversized City Knife, called a "Big City Knife" with snakewood
If I'm very lucky, a New York Special with stag
Mike Smith is working on finishing up a Jody folder, also, which I hope to have there.

See update above for handles that ended up on the knives, Will finish the NY Spl. today! Only had to tear one of the handle slabs off once! Grrrrrr!

The show was great, the weather was great, the people were great, even the traveling was great. Got to see J.W. Denton, that was the greatest!
Lots of knives of every description to be seen and tons of materials to pick from.

Steve, it was a great show and it was good to see you again. I regret not getting to talk more with you because I like to pick your brain about some of the how to's and why's of knife making.

06-18-2007, 05:10 PM
Thad, Charles, great to see/meet you. Great show, huh?

Sorry Bernie, I was too rushed to get photos, plus the sun was too shiny every day and at that point, I wan not getting up before the sun! Will have a photo of the Drop that won the time. Great stag. Fun to see Marc.
Hope things have calmed down, Mike. Missed you.

06-23-2007, 06:34 PM
Dear Steve,

At least one of them is handsome....the one on the left, that is. Hang, or should I say, "float" in there Mike! I surely do hope you can get some relief soon and hope to see you at SOS, too.

03-19-2008, 08:44 AM
One year later, here's one that will be at Solvang with me. It's a 4HO (Hide-out, with what I consider to be knock-out stag):

Another fantastic knife Steve, thank you for showing.

04-02-2008, 11:18 PM

04-07-2008, 07:26 PM
Hello Steve

I?ve decided to make Blade this year so I?ll be seeing you at Solvang and at Blade.

Best regards,

05-02-2008, 01:45 AM
Solvang was a great show, as usual. It won't happen again until 2009, and with another format, so I'm excited to see how that turns out, in more ways than one.

On another note: Here is a photo from Edmund Davidson's new book, "Edmund Davidson - The Art of the Integral Knife." It is one amazing book about my friend and his work, who is certainly one of the great integral makers of the day. Edmund, and the new book will be at Table 23-1 with editor Dr. David Darom at the Blade Show in Atlanta at the end of May. The photo kind of tells it all, stop by and see the book and the men responsible, it's a beauty!{7A2CE11C-27E9-4F73-B7FE-9835F049C0E5}/picture.JPG

We'll see you at Blade again. I should make it to Solvang. There are makers there that don't come to Blade, and it's not that far away. Maybe next year...
