Joan , if you read this , will you put the directions up here as well. Thanks, jc
Hey Folks,
If JC does more pig like he brought to Trackrock a couple of weeks back, you can just follow your nose. Deeeeeelicious!!!!!
Weather's going to be great, conversations the best, and lots of fun! So don't miss out.
Several people will be attending their "first" Guild meeting so be there and make them feel welcome.

Hi Guys.
I'll get this information posted on the GCKG website within the next day or so. I had to have some surgery last weekend, and spent all of last week recuperating. I'm back in the office and up to my eyebrows in work. Soon as I get a free minute, I'll get the post up.

The spring meeting will follow the same schedule as most previous meetings. The Board will begin meeting at 8:00AM on Saturday. The membership meeting will begin as soon as the board meeting is over which is usually around 9:15 to 9:30. After the member meeting the first demonstration will be held, followed by the second demonstration and then lunch. The John Poythress Scholarship raffle and the Iron in the Hat drawing will be held after lunch followed by the last demonstration.
As has become our custom, we will have a raffle for a custom made knife donated to the Guild by one of our makers. The proceeds from the raffle will go to the John Poythress Scholarship Fund being established by the Guild. The Knife being donated this spring will be made by Scott Davidson of Solid Rock Knives. Check later for a picture.
Don't forget to bring something for the Iron in the Hat drawing. Buy lots of tickets to increase your chances to win. This is how we pay John for providing lunch, so be generous when you buy your tickets.
Don't forget to bring a chair if you want to sit down during the meeting.
We currently have Robert Dark demonstrating some of his skills with a camera and Charlie Mathews demonstrating how to taper a tang the quick easy way. I am working on another demonstration and hope to have some more information on it later.
If you have a request for a demonstration please let me know. If you would like to do a demonstration or know of something someone would be willing to demonstrate, send me an e-mail and we will try to work it in at a future meeting.
Directions to John Costa's shop will be posted on the Georgia Custom Knifemakers Guild site
Check back for more updates.

Below is a map to the location of the April Meeting of the GCKG.

The map is provided by John and I like his touch of X marking the spot. Quite fitting since I don't think there was ever a meeting my John did not bring back a treasure chest of knowledge. And of course visiting with friends ranks right up there with choice jewels.
See you guys there.
Maybe John and I can get a few signs up in some choice intersections to help with the turns. I'll try to remember to bring some orange flagging to enhance the signs a bit.
Looking foreward to seeing everyone there. Make sure you older members find the new faces and make them welcome.
