I am looking for tips and tricks for working stone, Jade in particular.
My understanding is that special belts and tools are necessary, so I would also be interested in suppliers of same.
Other questions that come to mind are:
How well does it adhere to a tang on full tang knives?
What type of bits work best, if it can be drilled at all?
Will it crack under minor amounts of heat?

TIA,
Brett

Lapidary equipment is what you are looking for.
There is a whole world of info on the subject.

I have had some limited experience with jade and crazy lace.
Before I started trying to make my own knives I did some lapidary as a hobby.
I bought a ready made stainless blade and glued some crazy lace to the tang, along with a couple of brass bolsters. I used an "all you need" 6" flat lap. I cracked the lace one one side but it repaired - so so.
I also tried epoxying jade to the side of folders. I would buy folders at garage sales for a couple of bucks and take off the scales, sand and repeen the pins then epoxy on jade scales. The only thing that worked for me when I tried to shape the scales was diamond files or a diamond wheel on my dremel tool.
I bought a bunch of thin cut jade off of ebay. Some of it worked ok and some had inclusions, cracks, or just had a lot of tear out. You need to really eyeball the jade you are going to use. Nephrite from British Columbia worked best for me. I got some Montana and Calif. jade that worked ok too. I only did four knife handles before I got tired of it. Working the stuff is really tedious. Maybe with the right tools it would be ok.
Of the four handles only a couple turned out and I gave them to relatives as gifts. I still have a bunch of jade slabs and now that I am starting to experement with folders I catch myself looking at them and wondering how they would look as scales. Then I remember how much work it would be and how easy it is to mess up with this stuff. The one handle I made on the straight blade is way to heavy to be practical and if it got dropped on a cement floor it would break.
Hope this helps.
