Hi,

I am planning to buy some walnut burl for handles. Based on what I've seen of Rob Hudson's knives, this looks really, really beautiful. Anyway... How should I prepare the wood? I suppose that stabilization is strongly recommended, and I would probably go to WSSI for that. What else should I do?

Joss, If you have WSSI stabilize it, you don't need to do anything but buff it after you have shaped and sanded it. A coat of paste wax after that will make it shine.
