I have two routers mounted on a piece of 3 x 3 angle iron. One router has a 1/8” rotary carbide file, the other is ¼” carbide. This set up starts my filework patterns. I can do all ½ round indentations in the fraction of the time I would using hand files. These can also be used on hardened blades - just go slower. I find routers in yard sales & pawn shops for about $10 each.
