Well, must be my lucky day. Today as I was about to leave work, one of the Maintenance mechanics who is a friend called me and said they had a piece of equipment that was going to be discarded if I was interested so I went to check it out.
It was a 3hp. commercial dust collection unit that is still in perfect working order.
He said they were suppposed to throw it out last week, but since he knew that I might need it for the shop he postponed it until I got back from vacation.
It cost me a cup of coffee and the extra gas it took to haul it home.
Guess it pays to have friends in the right places.

Good for you, Mike! If you are going to use it for steel grinding grit, make sure you use steel conduit, and a water filled plenum to quench sparks.

Don,
No steel for this one, it will be used to get all of the other stuff. I have one of the Dayton vacuum systems that fits on a 55 gallon barrel rigged with the water plenum and also keep a couple of inches of water in the bottom of the barrel.
