Do any of you guys use an arbor press to straighten blades and liners?
If so what size press does it take?
I was thinking a 1/2 ton would be plenty. Do you need a 1 ton or bigger?

I use a half-ton arbor press, but not for straightening blades. I use it mostly for stamping my mark into sheaths.
Blade straightening is best done with a 3-point vise, as described in Bob Engnath's writing.
Three 1/4" brass rods and a vice.Put the two on the inside curve and the slngle one on the peak(outside) of the bow and squeeze it gently just past straight so it will spring back to straight.Be careful and use safety gear,it could easily snap without warning.Hope it helps.BTW I don't use an arbor press.he he!
