To complete part of my education, on knife making, I need to point my focus on
folders, I feel there is one tool of the greatest priority, a surface grinder.
Does anyone have plans or access to some. Does anyone have one for sale or
trade. Any assistance regarding this post will be greatly appreciated.

I made mine from a 2 x 72 belt grinder and a piece of I-beam with a sliding trolley. I don't really have "plans" for it. I tend to build as I go (after i've built it in my mind). If you want to give me a call, I can probably explain it.

THANKS TO MIKE KOLLER SENDING ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION, ROB FRINK'S SITE,I NOW HAVE PLANS FOR 2 SURFACE SANDERS. I BELEIVE IF YOU DOWNSIZED SOME AND USED METAL INSTEAD OF WOOD, WHERE HEAT IS A PROBLEM, YOU WOULD HAVE A VERY GOOD SURFACE GRINDER. I HAVE CHECKED ON SOME OF THE PARTS AND MATERIALS AND IT LOOKS LIKE, CAN BE BUILT FOR AROUND 400.00. WILL TRY TO GET TO THIS PROJECT AFTER I FINISH WITH MOVING AND WILL TRY AND KEEP A UPDATE GOING HERE ON TOOL TIME. THANKS ALOT MIKE.
