GENE, I AM THINKING ABOUT MAKING SOME FOLDERS. ARE YOU FAMILIAR WITH A LOCKBACK, WHERE THE LOCKBAR IS ATTACHED TO THE BOLSTER, FOR RELEASE OF THE BLADE. ARE THERE ANY PROBLEMS I NEED TO BE AWARE OF OR LOOK FOR IN THE MAKING OF THIS KNIFE. AS ALWAYS, YOUR TIME AND ENERGY IS APPRECIATED.

I'm not sure what you mean by a lock-back folder with the release in the bolster, perhaps it could be a "front locker" it which case you need to be careful where the bar pivot pin is placed. I suggest you visit the folder forum, some of the guys there might be able to give you some guidance.

That is called a bolster release locking mechanism.
The bolster raises to unlock the bar.
It can pivot or be screwed solid to the locking bar.The trick is how you are going to get through the liner.
A slot or cut out is neccessary for the screw to pass through the liner and attach to the lock.
When the bolster pivots it gets complicated to explain, but the solid type is easy to build.
I normally use one screw and a hidden 1/16" pin in the back.
The locking lug is the best place to put the screw because it is thicker there.(the area that drops down into the locking knotch in the top of the blade)
