Because the funny fact is that in making wootz you normally don't see any liquid metal at all.

I'm glad to see a smelting / melting forum, but when I saw the forum name I thought it was for that "liquid steel," stuff that some guy thought would be the next trendy thing some time ago. ;)

Are you guys referring to Darvaglass? I was at that website and watched a couple of the videos there.
