On the way home from work this afternoon I passed a small house that was having a yard sale and they had 5 100 pound propane tanks that were in very good shape and not very old setting there so I turned around and went back. The lady said they belonged to her husband and he wanted $40 ecah for them. I offered her $70 for two of them and she took it. It will cost me more than that to have them filled, but now I have three 100 pound and three 40 pound bottles. That will make for a lot of forging if I ever get my forge built. Plus I can use them for the shop heater this winter. :smokin:

Mike,

If they are still there tomorrow, get me two and I will drive to your place and pay you for them. Or put them on hold for me and I'll go get them from the seller directly. I'll even go out on a limb and pay their asking price.

I'll check this afternoon Bob, If they are still there I'll get you two of them and then we can work out how to get them to you.
I work in Plano, so it may be better for me to bring them down here and meet you somewhere.
I'll let you know.

Hi Mike and Bob, where are you guys located? I'm at Legacy and 75 in Plano. If you don't mind my asking, where was this yard sale?

So - it's the next day. Did you get them?

BTW - The cheapest new one I found was $90. there's a Propane place here in Fort Worth that sells them.

I got them all right, The husband was home this time so I had to pay the $40 each, he wouldn't bugde off the price. Still a good deal. Bob and I are going to meet next Monday or Tuesday so he can pick them up.

By the way, i went ahead and bought the other one he had too just in case somebody else here might want it. So if anyone from the area wants it for what I paid for it let me know.

Got the tanks. Mike and I met at a local hamburger place and loaded them up. I stopped on my way home and had them both filled ($35 each) and was using them last night.

It is really nice to be able to share in a good deal.
