Go for it. I would like to see ANYTHING from anyone. I have a few of my own that I could possibly post pictures of.

Home built belt grinder
Anodizer
Propane forge
Hydraulic press (in progress for quite a while now)
Box for making my own electro-etch stencils
Even a brake drum coal forge

I however, don't know how to post a picture (HEY, don't say it.....). Some of us can make some cool stuff and then be as dumb as a bag of hammers at other stuff.

Bob,
Send the pictures to me along with the descriptions and I will post them for you.

I'll try to borrow a digital camera and take some. Otherwise I have to get film developed etc......

I'll see what I can do.

They are not tutorials, but there are lots of tools made, posted in the older pages of TOOL TIME.
We have grinders, forges, blasters, filing jigs, grinding jigs, presses, rolling mills, ect.......all right here.
Look through the old pages and bring them back up for disscussion, or feel free to start your own as well.

There is NOTHING like the right tool for the job. :)

Geno,

Can you take some more pictures of your surface grinder? I am preparing to make one and have ideas for plans but would like to see a couple detaild pictures of the one you made to maybe create more ideas for mine. Also, what would you change on yours if you did it again?

The frst picture is my box for making stencils for electro-etching. Built it myself.

The second picture is my 24 ton hydraulic press that is in progress.

Golf balls make GREAT file handles, just had to throw that in.

Grinder, home built using parts off of several other grinders

Anodizer, home built but very cheap. Works great.

Hope someone gets ideas from these pictures.

Sorry,
The surface grinder is currently going through some major upgrades.
It took up too much room.
I'll post pics when its done.(I'm not in a hurry)

Here's a couple of shots of my home built mini-mill.

the motor runs at 2000rpm and spindle speed is about 3000rpm, motor is a variable speed 110vdc with electronic variable speed drive.
I enjoy and learn a lot from all the tutorials, more the better.

Has anyone had a go at building an electric heat treatment oven yet ?? I am doing some research into one at the moment and any info would be great.

Andy..

That is without a doubt one of the coolest homemade pieces of equipment that I have ever seen. Excellent job Andy.

Andy, I'd say that falls in the category of industrial art!

Thanks for the nice comments on my mill, I'm very happy with the way it's turned out and it works just great.
I have almost finished my grinder tonight, only got to make some type of platten and rest. I will post a picture as soon as everthings finished and painted.

What about one of you guys experianced in hollow grinding doing a tutorial on grinding, I 'm sure there are a lot of "newbies" out here who would find it of great benefit and interest.

Thanks again

Andy.

Andy,
That took some thinking, Man. :)
AWSOME!

Bob,
Did you make that Anodizer ?
That's pretty fancy too. :)

Yea,

The annodizer was an interesting project and worked out pretty well. The meter lets me get close to colors and then I can creep up on them to get the same color without passing it and having to redo the process.

The "SNEAK" approach, Huh?
I LIKE IT ! :)
I have a pretty good record of what voltage gives me what color, after working with it for a while.
I just start off low and increase untill I get it.
The estimates are pretty darn close, now.

I always like to hear something new. Thanks.
