How do you resplice a grinding belt? I have a 2ft x12ft and would like to make 2x72s out of it. thanks muddy

I have never been able to do it.

The bonding tape used at the manufacturer could be used but I cannot find any that works. However, by the time you figure it all out it may not be worth it. For two belts you would probably better serve you time by buying new 2X72's and using your long ones as shop roll, for shoeshining your handles.

I tried years ago but you'r just gonna hurt yourself.
When(not if) the belt comes apart from high RPM, It will beat the crap out of you before you can get out of the way.
Don't use staples either.-(don't ask) :)
