Sandy as alway's is a tough act to follow, but since he taught me this technique and I told him I was putting it up here goes. It's a Faux Snakeskin with lacing. The knife is a Puma Bowie.
The second one is a Crawford Bowie and the sheath feature a Nile Crocodile inlay. I hope you like them.Dave:)

Dave, what-in-ell did you feed that snake to make it look so healthy? It looks strong enough to devour the croc! I really like the way you shaped the window on the inlayed croc so that there is a platform for the SB stud. Very handsome, dear friend!

Hey Dave. The faux snake is really good. the dye job is perfect, very subtle color changes. The lace job is is primo, numero uno, the very best!!!!!

I really like the tile size on the Nile Croc. Alligator is about all I can readily find and sometimes the tiles are a little large for sheath work. I'm guessing that that inlay came from pretty far down the tail or it was a little Croc to be able to get that nice of a pattern on the sheath.

All around great work, my friend.

All I can say is I can't tell which is my favorite, but they're both wonderful pieces of art.
Bravo Zulu Dave, (ask Sandy, it's an old Navy expression:D )
Is the lacing on the croc purely decorative, or does it also secure the spine side of the inlay? I've blown it up as far as I can and can't tell.

Nice knives to play with too ! I've always found I do my best work when I'm also inspired by the knife; seems to apply also in your case :)

Thanks everyone for the nice comments.Mike, I didn't use any lacing on the Croc sheath so I'm not sure what your looking at.Paul , I sent you a PM about the Croc skin. Let me know if you didn't get it.
Jim , would be happy to do some for you or just as happy to show you how to do your own. Just a click away. Take care and thanks again. Dave:D

on the faux snakeskin , is that an inlay or stamped ?

I can see I have a long way to go to get to that level...but I will keep on trying.

I'm almost speachless! However, anyone that knows me also knows that I'm never speachless. Your work is top notch DC, I know Sandy is proud, and you should be also.
Good going guy!
