so...you can own or have shipped an automatic to oregon, regardless of size. is this correct?

i'm not a lawyer, but it looks like weapons section 5 b states anything other then a simple pocket knife can be considered a weapon. law enforcement can consider anything a potential deadly weapon. it is the courts that have the final say on these matters.

(1) Except as provided in subsection (2) of this section, any person who carries concealed upon the person any knife having a blade that projects or swings into position by force of a spring or by centrifugal force, any dirk, dagger, ice pick, slungshot, metal knuckles, or any similar instrument by the use of which injury could be inflicted upon the person or property of any other person, commits a Class B misdemeanor.

(2) Nothing in subsection (1) of this section applies to any peace officer as defined in ORS 133.005, whose duty it is to serve process or make arrests. Justice courts have concurrent jurisdiction to try any person charged with violating any of the provisions of subsection (1) of this section. here it says CARRYING OF CONCEALED WEAPONS is illegal but what im wondering about is if IMPORTING an automatic into the state is legal.

but imporing them into ca state is illegal. what i wanted know is if its legal to have an automatic shipped to oregon from another state.

you can get the little key chain switchblades... but you just gotta no where to look, there are places in cali that you can get anything *cough* chinatown *cough*
