Here are some photos of student work done in the class "Making a Slipjoint Folder" offered by the KnifeNetwork Online School of Knife Making. These were all made by beginners.

Wow guys ... those are great!!

Did you find it easy, or hard to learn the process online?

There's no arguing with those results!!!

That new attched image feature sure is aggravating. Even the "big" pictures are way too small to see anything other than, "yup thats a knife alright". Sorry about the whine.

Hi, HDN.

Those pictures were uploaded by students who didn't have the experience we do in sizing photos for uploading from a hard drive. They are undersize.

Most of these people are fortunate just to be able to take and upload any kind of photo. They're learning to make knives. Photography is another subject altogether.

Now click your fingers and make me as good a photographer as you are, my friend. I've been trying to learn Adobe Photoshop 7 for at least two years. I learn a little more now and then.

The Knet limits for a photo upload are generous as far as I'm concerned. 600 pixels x 100kb x 72dpi.

I resize the ones I upload to an optimized 600 pixels and get a good clear photo uploaded.

Here's another knife made during the slipjoint class.

Is this big enough?:101

Beautiful! Did you jig that bone? Maybe it is my old eyes. I can't take a pitcher to save my life. Heck, I can't even spell it. I did have a good scanner that worked pretty well, but it went out on me. I picked up a new cam, but I am still scratching my head about it.

Congrats to the students. Those are some knives to be proud of.

I was a student in this class and I enjoyed a lot in making some slip joint folders. Don is really a good teacher and it was very easy to go step by step with all photos and detailed explanations. His reactivity and profesionnalism has been a great help. It is very surprising how we can learn and teach from each other trough a such tool, even if we are several thousands miles far away. Thanks again Don, great experience for me.:101
For Hammerdownnow, I post some greater photos. The quality is not very good; perhaps next time with a new camera and if a class "Photography" is to be opened .:D

Thanks for the good words, Jean-Yves.

That shows to go you that the French and Americans can be good friends if given a chance.

Where do I send your $1.000.00 check for saying these good things?:gossip: :D
