john costa 03-30-2006, 10:54 AM I'm with you Rick, I felt like I'd been spanked like a 4 year old in K-Mart by the time Saturday was over . But I'd do it all again tommorow......jc
Harry Mathews 03-30-2006, 08:06 PM Roosko, the pictures turned out great. I had a great time and learned alot. Still got a long way to go though. Could not ask for a better bunch of people. When's the next one of these things? I don't want to miss it.
Good pics Robert. Thanks for sharing them. Yeah, I missed the cutting, that was the third swing....right? I got kinda tied up with my little buddy Scout. Youngest member of FOOSRK at 5 1/2 years old. Maybe Joan will post a picture of him forging his blade. Very intent and focused young man. Made some of my older students look pretty bad.
Glad everyone who made it had a good time.
Raymond Richard 03-31-2006, 01:42 PM Hey Big Boy, did anyone ever tell you were using the wrong arm? Thanks for the look at the fun!
Robert Dark 03-31-2006, 01:52 PM Hey Big Boy, did anyone ever tell you were using the wrong arm? Thanks for the look at the fun!
Say it ain't so Big-un, just say it ain't so. After all these years.........What I gonna do ????:banghead
I watched him forge for awhile Raymond. He's pushing through his handicap pretty well. I'd be more concerned about where he hail's from :>).
joe sangster 04-03-2006, 07:50 AM Hey , we were all born right handed & a few of us recovered. We are still the only ones in our right minds. Good photos & a pleasure meeting you , Roosco. It was my 1st ever hammerin but I don't think it will be my last.

Hey Joe,
Glad you made it up to the HI. Maybe next time you'll do a little tapping (or did I miss it?).
We have a little fun at Robert's expense sometimes but he's OK in my book and shop.
You might talk Mr. Harry into holding a winter HI down at his place in Statesboro (where we had the Feb. Guild meeting). He's hinted around a little. Welcome to the Guild by the way.
Harry Mathews 04-09-2006, 08:01 PM It wouldn't take very much to talk me into hosting a winter HI. I'm still working on making a knife out of the blade I hammered out up there in the mountains. The blade is looking good, I just can't decide on the handle material. I have my burners going and am waiting for some brick to finish my forge. I hope to get it going before long. I might need to call on some of y'all for a little help.
joe sangster 04-14-2006, 03:30 PM I cast my vote for a winter h.i. at Harry's !!
