I am using 1095 and nickel. After making the billet, I grind and take to 280 grit then normize and heat treat. Bake at 450 for 2 hours. When I clean up the knife the clouds show up. Any help would be appreciated. Delbert Ealy 03-20-2006, 10:21 AM Dan, The decarb runs a little deeper on the 1095/nickel damascus. try taking off a little more before you etch.
