I am moving this post over here at Don Crowles suggestion. I looked back through the archives but still need some help.

I am looking for another contact wheel. Need some help on durometer's. Like what are they? OK OK I know they measure the hardness of the rubber surface but what do you generally recomend for your knife grinder?

I currently use a smooth wheel and plan to stay with that but I don't know what durometer it is so I don't know what I what to get. Is there anyway to "country boy" test it and get a close idea of the durometer?

Also has anybody used Contact Rubbers wheels? I talked to them but wondered about personal experiences. I am especially interested in the C-134 model with the three piece and replacable tire. How good are they and is the tire backed by hard metal like there other aluminum hub models. (I forgot to ask : ) )

Thanks
