I seem to remember some time ago someone talking about a chart that calculated wheel size to stock width and thickness, and when a given size wheel would reach the spine and edge of a given stock, etc. Can anyone point me in the right direction on this one?

John, K&G sells a nice little slide rule that gives that information. Rob's formula is more flexible and exact since the slide rule assumes an edge thickness of 0. I use the slide rule since I picked one up from K&G at the Eugene show some years ago. It is a handy quick reference and has always served me well.
