tunefinK 07-21-2005, 09:05 PM Sweet looking rig there, Wayne........
Black sheath?
crimsontide 07-21-2005, 09:23 PM Tune, Thanks for the compliment. No the sheath isn't black, it is the burgandy sheath with ezlap sharpener that comes with the Stanaback Specials.
tunefinK 07-21-2005, 09:36 PM Hadn't even considered that one...... I bet the black matches it well!!!!!
The "Captain" 07-26-2005, 09:26 PM Wayne,
I thought you would have said your sheath is "crimson"! Seriously...nice knife! I often wonder exactly what all of these knives look like that I send out. There just isn't enough time to look at each and every one of them. The grind on this one is just what the doctor ordered! Good luck with it. I don't look in here very often, but I am glad I made an exception tonight! Best, Captain Chris Stanaback
Moosehead 07-26-2005, 09:48 PM I agree guys this one smart looking knife!
Cangrats on your good taste, Wayne! :101
Cap , please check into the gallery more often. you never know what type of Randall you might see...
For instance , can you figure out what model this is the stag handle of?

crimsontide 07-27-2005, 09:31 AM Cap,
Thanks for the kind words on my Stanaback Special.
By the way, you are correct, I should have said "crimson sheath", that would have been more appropriate for me!!!
Wayne
RedElk 07-27-2005, 10:31 AM Wayne,
That's one darn purdy knife! Another one for my wish list.
crimsontide 07-27-2005, 11:34 AM RedElk and Moose,
Thanks for the compliments on the Stanaback. This one could really stand up to a lot of hard work!!!!
Take care,
Wayne
The "Captain" 07-31-2005, 10:58 AM Looks like a "Stanaback Special" / Slab Sided to me. It may have red and metal spacers, but I cannot be sure. All just a guess anyway! Best, Captain Chris Stanaback
Moosehead 07-31-2005, 06:23 PM Right on, Cap!
It's impossible to sneak one past you. :(
The spacers are black and brass, but for this you can't be faulted.
Cheers!

azgator 08-03-2005, 11:45 PM The Stanaback Special is one of my favorite RMKs. It's a very practical design and the options flexibility allows you to customize them for any purpose. Here are two recent deliveries that I had made up as a pair of "all arounders".
Thanks to the good Cap'n for accomodating the changes from my original order. :101
Specs:
one 4"
one 4 5/8"
Both have:
NS hilts

tomthbomb 08-14-2005, 03:26 PM Captain,
Very nice, very clean design!
Will you please tell us (newbe's) the different options available on your RMK design?
Thanks (in advance),
tom
tomthbomb 03-04-2006, 06:10 PM We have a thread for most of the Randall Made Knives but not one for Captain Chris Stanaback's Special. Here is my RMK/SS. I mailed a deposit to the Captain for a fighter style SS with double brass hilt, leather grip and brass butt cap.

Let's see your Stanaback Special.
Moosehead 03-06-2006, 10:31 AM Hi Tom!
Here you go!
I merged all the Stanaback Specials onto this thread.
Not to worry your cool red micarta version is still here... :smokin
Thanks for getting this going again! :101
Cheers!

crimsontide 03-07-2006, 11:16 AM I have posted a copy of the Captain's Stanaback Special on the gallery for future reference. Below is the Captain's description.
Wayne
Did you folks know that red and blue micarta was available from the Randall shop? True story! Someone posted requested red and black spacers. That got me to thinking. That's always a problem. The photo is of one of my 4 5/8" "Stanaback Specials" with red and blue micarta. The handle shape is #22 style with a duralumin butt cap. Just more food for thought.
The picture looks a lot better when it doesn't have to be reduced so much for transfer. Anyway: Black, Green canvas, antique gold. maroon, and even red and blue micarta are available for the micarta fans! Stag is winning as far as I can tell, but....Ya' never know. Best, Captain Chris Stanaback
P.S. We are trying to educate folks on the ins and outs of ordering Randalls: Aren't we? CCS
