Hi Everyone...
I wanted to make this announcement about a couple of security related changes that are coming to the "Trade Report" forum area shortly.
Within the next couple of days, we're going to begin the requirement of forcing visitors of the KNet forums to be registered to view certain boards. The "Trade Report" will be one of them.
Unless a visitor is logged in as a registered user, they will not be able to read the content of this board, and the others that we determine. This will not affect registered users, but will stop all non-registered users from anonymously reading the board contents. We're doing this as an additional security step to help us track and nail scammers, specifically those who use the classifieds on the KNet main site.
The next measure will be to provide a private, "authorized member only", board for the reporting of scammers, including IP addresses and other forensic information we need to collect. Within this new board, we (AV) will directly support and train our online sellers in various ways of identifying and avoiding ... and/or preventing being burned by fraudsters on this site and others.
This new board will contain sensitive fraud prevention information, visitor IP information and will therefore be unavailable to general readers. This will coincide with the closure of the Classifieds open usage program and will focus on the direct support of members of the KNet who are registered to use the KNet classifieds site feature.
Because we operate in the open on KNet, I wanted to post this in advance of this policy change to allow those of you who may have questions to post them here.
Our goal is two-fold...
#1) We're committed to fraud prevention and want to guarantee our registered system users that the full measure of our anti-fraud experience is available to users who need this information. We'll also use this private board to request additional information which will be used to report and terminate these threats.
#2) We would like to provide a private board for direct KNet advanced member support, live usage instruction and marketing training for gaining the most from the software and system features of KNet.
Please post any questions you have and we'll be happy to address them here.
Thanks again ...
Alex
