Im tring to restore a Champion Rivet Forge with the 400 blower on it.Striped it all down cleaned everthing tried to find new bearings with no luck ,ended up putting back the old pitted up junk bearings back in it.I got it all adjusted and turning good and one of the pitted up bearing balls kind of turned in the races like a cam and broke the inside race. Now I stuck and not sure what to do, can you put a different bearings in the 400 blowers. Hate to give up on it,I have ate a ton of rust working on it.I also have the Cast iron pan for it also and wanting to put the old thing back like it came from the factory.
Thanks for any help.

Clinker,I`ve re-built several with new bearing and races. The old bearings are probably babbitt and thats the reason for the pitting.Go to a good bearing shop with the demintions Or better yet carry the old ones. They can fix you up. Robert Washburn abs journeyman smith

Robert's right! On the ones I've overhauled, I took the "pieces" of left over bearing with me, and the local bearing supply outfit was able to give me a new bearing that fit the application. I suspect that a few of the blowers that I've overhauled had the treatment previously, as a couple did have shielded one piece bearing in them. Just a matter of finding the bearing that fits the blower.
