Hey Ed
I'm trying to figure out what weight leather is good to use on the wooden lined sheaths that have a tip and throat on them. My standard sheath leather is 9/10oz and 10/11oz and I know thats way too thick. Thanks for any advice.

Hi Scott!
If your doing a wood lined, leather covered sheath, I would recommend light stuff, in the 4-5oz or 5-6oz range. One of the things that I've used in the past is elk hide, it has a bit of stretch to it, but it might also be on the thick side.
