Hi
I am anxiously awaiting a model that is showing in the Spyderco 2006 catalog, and was wondering if there is a usual time frame for availability of these knives onced they appear in the catalog.
Also, who might be the first dealers to receive the new models, or can you pre-order somewhere?
Thanks for any information.

Spyderco's philosophy is that they will not release a model until it is ready. This, as you can imagine, messes with their predicted release dates. Which model are you inquiring about -- as some are supposedly due within the next couple of months, while others will probably not be released until this Summer.
Some places allow pre-ordering; you'll have to inquire to find out. Some good dealers are New Graham Knives (http://www.newgraham.com), Grand Prairie Knives (http://www.gpknives.com/), Sawyers Cutlery (http://store.yahoo.com/sawyerscutlery/). Of course there are slew of other shops online that are reputable, and worth checking out.
What specfic model are you looking for?? Certain things are able to be pre-ordered, such as the CF MIlitary (which IS out) and the ZDP Delica.

I'm wanting a SmallFly:)
It's good to know that Spyderco will not let them out of the barn before they are ready:rockon:
I will check and see if anyone is allowing pre-ordering.
Thanks for the info:101
I know the ZDP Delica won't be out until March. I dunno about the SmallFly. Have you downloaded the Spyderco catalog? That might help a little. Check out: 1.http://www.gpknives.com/( I pre-ordered my ZDP Delica from them.) 2.http://www.newgraham.com/ 3. http://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/aapk_blades/index.php
