Ok I'd like to make some nice gaurd material out of brass and copper. I have 1/4" copper pipe and brass rod that fits snug inside. My plan was to nest the two together, and cut/filing many slots into the pipe. My thought is that doing this will make the brass mix better with the copper. Any suggestions are apretiated.
Thanks,
Stuart.
Awhile back there was an article in Blade or KI that recommended using clay to get an idea of how a manipulation of metal would look when done. I think, if I follow your right, you would have to cut large areas out of the copper tube to let the brass show through.
Hopefully someone else will jump in,
Jim

you didn't state how you are going to fuse the tube and rod together. the 2 materials also oxidize at around the same color so your contrast will not be very noticable. most pattern manipulation is done after the materials are fused, not really sure if the brass would actually fill the cuts before fusing.
