Dear Ed, Terry, and all,

I notice you are able to include photos inside your messages. As I have no website, I would like to be able to do this also.

Can you give me directions, please?

John

Hi John!
I'm not sure about storing your images, since I have a web site, I upload photos to that, and then use the EZ codes. If you look to the left when your writing a message, there are underlined links. Follow the one that says "Use EzCodes" and it will tell you how to do all sorts of cool things. For example and image is posted by typing http://your photo name don't forget to put the / in there. It drove me nuts until I realized I was leaving that out.
Now, lets see what happens.

John,
I don't know who your ISP is, but many allocate some space on their servers for you to store things like images. You might first want to contact your ISP and see if you have any web space allocated to your account. If so, you can store no only images, but HTML (Web documents), or any other type of file.

If your ISP has not allocated any web space for you, there are several places that will allow you to store images in "albums" for free. A lot of folks are currently using ImageStation:

www.imagestation.com/ (http://www.imagestation.com/)

In my case, I have web space for my web site. Many of the images I displaly here are stored there. A while back I signed up with a free service called BoomSpeed.com. It seems to be fairly reliable, and I have 10MB of space allocated. Neither of these are the "Picture Album" type setups. They are just space for me to store any kind of file. That's what I prefer because sometimes I may upload an HTML (Web document) for folks to see. These types of accounts don't provide much "handholding" though. You are pretty much on your own when using this type of service. Anyway, the URL for BoomSpeed is:

www.boomspeed.com/ (http://www.boomspeed.com/)

Once you have stored your images, come down to the "Computer Center" forum (here on CKD Forums) if you need help displaying the photos.

So I have to have the photos on a website somewhere? I can't just put in images stored on my hard drive?

John

No, you must upload them to the web. You don't have to have a web site, just an area on the web to store them. The places like ImageStation mentioned above are not for you to build a web site. They are just for storing images.
