Hi All!
Just posted a new article up on my website. It should be of particular interest to those who are going for thier Journeyman Smith rating. Take a look and let me know if it is written in an understandable manner, or any thought you might have concerning the article and/or the JS test.
You can get there from here, by following this link.....

Cool article. I am using almost the same process, so that is reassuring too. The only difference, is that I use my forge to heat the cutting edge to critical. I get wonderful temper lines and they seem to have done ok with the bend test. Is there gonna be a big difference doing it this way?

Just wanted to say thanks to those who have responded, and especially to those who pointed out errors in the spell/grammar of the article. I often find myself doing this stuff late at night, and usually I'm not firing on all cylinders! Thanks very much for the help!

Ed,
you have done a smashing job with this article because it is easy to understand and absolutly complete. You can follow step by step. I especially like your hinds in regards to the finishing of the test blade. The only thing that worries me is the fact that I can not get 5160 in Germany!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

See you
