After running into inclusions yet again on some 5160 steel that I have I have decided to try to locate some 5168. Does anyone know where to purchase this grade of steel? I have run into deadends with my normal suppliers. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Craig

Hi Craig!
I can't remember off the top of my head, but a couple of weeks ago, one of the guys on the custom knife directory chat (on Paltalk) was telling me where to find 5168. Next time I'm there, I'll ask, or if you want to join us, just download the free paltalk program from Paltalk.com and join us on the chat. Let me know if I can help with getting you to the chat room. If you do decided to download it, my screen name is Ed Caffrey. If you put that on your list in the paltalk program, it will highlight whenever I'm on.

Craig
The 5160 I use is designated 5160H. I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for but mine has always been inclusion free in the 1", 1 1/4" and 1 1/2" widths. I get it from Uncle Al at Riverside Machine. The number is 870-642-7643 and Al's website is www.riversidemachine.net. Maybe Al can help you locate some 5168.
Hope this helps
Scott

Thanks for the help guys.
I better hold off on the Pal talk. I have enough trouble getting away from the forums long enough to go make knives. But thanks for the offer.
