I finally got my smithy all together and fired up Ed! I followed your advice, and also applied what I learned this week-end, and my first attempt at welding cable so far seems to be a sucess!! after truing up the bars on the grinder , so for I haven`t seen any flaws in the weld surfaces and a quick etch on one end reveals a nice bold pattern running up the width of the bar.One thing did happen though, the heat of the fire must have infected me , because I`m hooked!! I can see now though that a power hammer or press is going to be a must, because my right shoulder sure does hurt and I have a blister on my thumb the size of a dime !! thanks again for the help!!
