My fellow Randall knife freaks,
As I mentioned in a previous post, I am considering several options for our next building project. They are listed in the "final" thread of our fighter project. Please take a look at these "suggestions". I say suggestions, as I am totally open to your suggestions as well. I know by the 100% positive reactions to these building projects that everyone enjoys them, participates in them, and learns from them!! A win, win, win situation!!
I do not mind continuing these a bit longer. Having said that, I must tell ya'll that I only have enough "room" on an occasional order to justify "one" winning design. The future building projects will have to have a finalized "one-knife" winner. I'm sure you folks can appreciate just how far behind and far out the Randall knife orders are these days. If you had a Randall due out from me, and many of ya' do, you wouldn't want that order being delayed for someone to be "jumped" in ahead of you. We can continue these building projects for a bit longer, but 1 knife per project.
Now: Let's hear your ideas!! Best, Captain Chris Stanaback
P.S. Due to the allocation of available "ivory" orders allowed, I cannot "build" you folks anything with an ivory handle. I "can" build other custom handles!! (uh-oh: another idea)CCS

Having just returned from spending 5 days in Houston, Texas, I vote for a Bowie knife.

I will go along with the Bowie idea. :101 How about a 12-8 with a unique natural handle either exotic wood or stag. If you go the wood route come up with something you don't see everyday.

thanks

Mesquite is an excellent choice and would go well with black and brass spacers.

I also like a premium fiddleback or tigertail walnut.

You may be on to something there, Jeff. That one sounds pretty tasty.

O.K how about a Raymond Thorp with Some of Silverknifes silver fixtures and Ironwood Commando handle. That might be something very interesting.

I'd like to see a confederate bowie.
