Cool!
I finished my first and after my KITH is done, ill be jumping right on my next 2, to be made simultaneously. My first I made the interesting mistake of doing eveyrthing backwards, HT last. It worked out fine, but I did not flly harden the lock face and tang, and i think it will show eventually.
I think its a cool idea to get some WIP threads going, where we all can post our progress!

I know what KITH is, but what is WIP? I'm pretty sure it doesn't mean "Wharncliffe In Purse". ;)

Work In Progress=W.I.P
Well now I feel dumb and excited at the same time. I'd love to see/post more work-in-progress info. Looking at museum-quality finished works is great, but the tutorials and work-in-progress threads are really what I need. Thanks guys!

ps - I'll do a thread for my current WIP complete with details and pictures of "THE BIG MISTAKE". ;)

OK, now I have a suggestion for you.
In your original sketch, you show a notch for the stop pin/back spacer.
The sketch is backwards. The stop area must extend past the notch for the lock bar. If you make your blade like the sketch the heel of the blade won't be able to swing past the stop.
Another thing: If you cut the lock bar that high the spring will be too stiff. Shoot for about 3/16" at the tail end.
Email me privately, McAhron. :)
Thanks for posting your WIP. looks like a good start to me.:101

I have a few WIPs...since I have to send my blades out to be HT. I figured I would make several before sending them out. They are all my first ones :) I dont like the tiny pics they off here so I use links.I need to adjust the lock/stop pin.Its just shy of completely locking. Scales are next also. Other WIPs are are in the My Hobbies link.

Thanks for the comments everyone. :)
ps.the heel of the notch will be rounded to clear the stop/backspacer and the spring will be brought down.I realized it after i had made the copies and now have a revized blueprint.

McAhron,
Something I just noticed... Will you be attaching scales or will this be a framelock? I ask because I notice in your sketch that the lock cut is somewhat high and might not leave much room on the liner for attaching scales. There's plenty of room in your design for adjustment though if you need to place the lock cut lower.

These will have titanium bolsters and stabilized wood scales.I am dropping the lock down as well as several other refinements. :)
