However, I have several in my shop--two 8 inch buffers, a floor mount drill press, an 8 in bandsaw, and the 2 X 72 sander. I have not had a moments problem with any and I use them a lot. I had my doubts about the knife grinder, since I've not heard one good thing about them on a knifemaking forum, the belt runs true and there's very little vibration. robertwashburn 04-10-2001, 07:17 PM I`ve been using one for 4 or 5 years. If you put a good platen on it and order the tapes fromAllen Blade on modifying it,you`ll have a good serviceable grinder. Robert Washburn Abs Journeyman Smith TMarshman 04-10-2001, 09:36 PM I am very excited about it and, other than making your own, the least expensive 2 X 72 out there. Thanks for the input, gentlemen! And thank-you, Mike! MIKE KOLLER 04-10-2001, 10:17 PM Your welcome ,now I have a little more room in my shop for a few new toys(tools). Robert,How about some more info on the tapes? There are many Grizz 2x72 's out there and some one may be looking for just what the tape offers. BCB27 04-11-2001, 02:25 PM Mike, Allen offers several different videos including the flat and hollow grinding videos in which the blades are ground on the Grizzly. He recently moved and his new email address is allendotc0m@aol.com . I believe the videos are about $13 apiece. MIKE KOLLER 04-11-2001, 04:14 PM Thanks but the question was for anyone else that may have a Griz.I am now the proud owner of a KMG-1 from Rob Frink at Beaumont Metal Works. | |
