Anyone know of any wood suppliers that specialize in curly maple ? The supplier I used was Maple Specialties in Washington state but the web site for them is gone. The sizes I use most are 1"x 2"x 24".
Thanks
Scott

Scott, check out www.mapleleafhardwoods.com. They are located in Pennsylvania. They have a very interesting web site.
Several months ago I ordered three of their maple "cutoffs". They sent me five pieces. Three of the pieces are highly figured. If you talk to the owner-Paul Taran when you go through the ordering process you can tell him what you need or what you are looking for. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help. I will check out the site tonight and give them a call in the morning.

I get a lot of my blade exotics from local hardwood lumber specialists - often you can find beautiful pieces in the scrap pile for much less than any of the knife suppliers.

I got in touch with Paul and ordered some of the "private stock" from the photo I saw its some really awsome curly. I wish the town I live in had cool places to find stuff but around here the gas pumps still say "Regular" and "Ethyl".
Thanks
