Hello all; I believe I have found a good source for antler from Europe. It is
Red Deer stag, and seems to be the next best thing to Sambar.
I have received my first sample batch and am very impressed with the
size, density, color, and texture.
I have tapers and crowned half rack sheds.
The tapers range on average from 12-18 inches long, averaging 1 inch
across on the cut end, are very solid, and have great texture.
I am selling these for $10.lb. + shpng.

The full crowned half racks average 22-26inches long, have a great
dark brown color, large crowns averaging from 1-2 inches across.
I am selling these for $14.lb. + shpng

Crowned sections 6-8 inches long are $15.ea + shpng.

I don't think you can go far wrong with Red Deer antler. It has been used on knives for a very long time and there are some old examples still around.

There are all those 'modern' bowies from Sheffield too, the 19thC ones!
