what is the intended purpous if having two detents in the blade of a liner lock?
my friend has a knife the has this feature one is in the normal spot that activates when the blade is closed. and the other is located so that it activates when the blade is half way open.
the only resons that i can think of is
1- that this knife could almost never be classifide as an auto. becaus the second detent efectivly slows or stops the knife from being fully deployed with the flip of a wrist or" gravity"
2- that the second detent is there to extend the life of the stop pin by slowing the blade down or stoping it when you whip/flip the blade out.
what do you guys think?
