Mongo- Raymond Richard 03-15-2002, 08:37 PM Hey Mongo, thats more than double. Its usually sold by the running foot but the rolls are two feet wide. I get a different brand but its all pretty much the same. Anyway if I remember I had paid 6 bucks for a running foot. So thats 3 bucks for a square foot. I'd do some more checking if I was you. Ray C L Wilkins 03-16-2002, 04:49 AM That sounds high. Give Al Lawrence a call at Uncle Al's, he "may" have kaowool. His number is in the Supplier's List above. At one time, he also carried Satanite. Craig mongoismyname 03-16-2002, 07:08 AM thanks, i never bought the stuff before and this is from a ceramic supply house.. Mike McRae 03-18-2002, 09:39 PM Here in North Carolina there are a couple of refractory "wools" available, including Kaowool. They are essentially the same thing in that they all act as high heat insulators. At retail locally the stuff works out to be about $7.00 per running foot. Mine came 2 feet wide, and came from a local ceramics supply house. It sounds to me like the price at $10 is HIGH. MIKE KOLLER 03-19-2002, 12:30 AM Mongo, Try a search for refactories in your area at http://yp.bellsouth.com/ (http://http://yp.bellsouth.com/). Hope this helps. mongoismyname 03-21-2002, 09:10 AM Thanks for the help guys, i found some for $3.25 a sq foot, so i guess $10.00 was a little high :) .. | |
