Do you listen to music in your shop? What do you listen to?
Would anyone else be interested in a Shop Music Forum where we could introduce each other to stuff we like?

That's a novel idea, Sam. I like it!

What's the over-and-under on how long it'll take the other forums to copy the idea?

If I set it up, will you moderate it?

I have a 5-CD player in my shop, and finally gave up on it because of the dust. I also got tired of all my CD's.

I bought a new 14"TV for the shop, and hooked it up to my Direct TV satellite dish.

Now I have every kind of music there is, direct from satellite, and the news.

I LIKE it!!! :101

Word. I'll help out. I even have some extra CDs that we could turn into pass-around CDs or something like that.

Over/under should be six months.

I listen to www.Live365.com from the computer through wireless speakers in the shop. Thousands upon Thousands of stations to chose from. Gib

Nice. I'd like to have done that, but all I can get is a dial up connection, and music won't download fast enough. :(

The satellite connection works nicely, though.

Don, That is what I have. It is expensive but our telephone service is so poor I had to go to the satellite so the computer would work. Gib

For starters, some of you might enjoy this:

And this: http://www.markdavidmanders.com/photogallery/detail.aspx?ID=181

(It don't mean a thang if it ain't got that twang.)

Who knew Los Angelinos could twang? This is Gillian Welch, famous for the "O Brother Where Art Thou?" soundtrack.

Like Gib, I have internet streams piped into the shop as well. Radio reception is poor in my area.

I play the classical Cello and love anything classical on strings. My station of choice is : http://www.beethoven.com/

I also like heavy metal and frequently pipe that in. ...but mostly classical.

Beethoven. I think I'm nuts about the Pathetique Sonata.

Hi Bill...
Have you checked out "Down" or "Corrosion of Conformity"?
:)

Mazorski's (sp?) "Promonade Through a Gallery" or anything Leon Redbone. When that goes tired a little Flying Burritos Brothers or Neil Young.
Then there's the old standby when I feel like poking the 8 Track to life (yeah it still works).....Iron Butterfly first song track 2....."In the Garden of Eden" better known as "Innagoddadavida", now that's rockin!

Hook up the ipod and have about 16 hours of Clapton, Stevie Ray, Janis Joplin or Queen. Unless of course I am feeling classic in which case it switches over to Sibelius.

As a reminder...

We have our own shop radio station system here on the forums for those of you who don't know. Look below the top header for the link to the console. There are over 300 stations (worldwide) that we have to choose from. It has everything from classical to talk... and, it's free!!!

Lastly... check out Pandora if you want to customize your own stations. It's excellent!!!
