I was just wondering if you guys know of anywhere that i can get knife patterns like a website or anything. Also i finished my first blade with the shaping and had a question. Do i need to heat the oil when i quench it? I will be using canola oil.

Zackaris, your best bet to find knife patterns is to do an internet search for "Knifemaking patterns". It will show you lots of web sites to visit that have examples of finished knives. Atlanta Cutlery used to sell a set of papert knife patterns, but I checked their site and it's no no longer offered in their catalog. You might contact them, they could still have copies in stock that they don't list in the catalog.
As far as heat treating your blade, it depends on the type of steel you used. Let me know and I'll I'll try to help you out .
