Sometimes the design problem that's the hardest to overcome is the best part of the design :)
Took me a while to figure out how to fit the marlin spike without a strap or cord, but it turns out the curve of the spike gives it a natural friction fit. Unless this one loosens up considerably over time, it'll require a lanyard to remove it.

Very nice ol'buddy.The new owner should get plenty of use out of that one.I had one of those spikes when I lived on Andros many years ago.Handy little tools,but I used mine more for getting at lobster and crab meat than ropewok :lol .Dave :101

I thought it was for picking the grilled marlin away from the bones :lol :lol
