How do I get rid of this annoying knife news pop up? It really slows down this site.

You must be a registered member. The software doesn't recognize you so it can't protect you from pop ups.

I don't get the newsletter popup but I get a LOT of others. Here is a cool little program that I fould. Just go here www.analogx.com/contents/download/network/pow.htm (http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/network/pow.htm) and download it. Install it and put it in your startup folder so it will run automatically on boot up. Every time you get a popup, open theprogram and the program will show you all open internet pages. Just double click on the popup and it will go away. Everytime you visit a place that sends that popup, this program will compare it to the list you have created and it will see it so the program will remove it, EVERY TIME from now on. I like this because it is free and it works. I no longer get those ads for the X10 cameras or other things. Every time you happen to go somewhere that has a popup you have not screened out it will come up, you just add it to your list and it will be gone.

If your computer is setup correctly, the newsletter signup window will only show once every 60 days. As far as slowing down the site, the images you see on this forum are hosted on the same server as the html for the popup.
