here's a blood wood seax i just finished the blade is 12 inches and gripp is 5 1/2. the gripp and scabbard are carved bloodwood. the spacers are wrought Iron and leather. The dragon motif on the scabbard is inspired by the carvings on the prow of the osenberg longship.
Ormbladnir means worm (dragon) bladed. the blade is seven layers of 1084/L6

Excellent work, Jake.
I love bloodwood. Smells like Play-Doh when you work it. :)
Wow Jake, I'm in awe. Keep em coming.

Beautiful Knife!
The Oseberg carving looks very Viking.
What tang shape did you use, and how did you secure the handle?

Thanks guys, Its a hidden tang I think they call it, it goes most of the way through the gripp but stops before the butt. it's secured with a bunch of industrial stength epoxi hidden pins.
