John & I have just returned from the SouthEastern Custom Knife Show that was held in Winston-Salem this past weekend. We had a really good time. One of the things that was so cool was how well the Georgia Custom Knifemakers' Guild was represented at this show.

Those with tables at the show are: Charlie and Harry Mathews (back row), Nelson Simmons, Lori & Dean Gates, John Poythress, Ken Simmons, and myself behind the camera. The only other member I remember seeing was Pop and he just was not available for this snapshot of attenders.
This will be a show Dean will remember--not only was it his first custom knife show, but he also won the "Best Scrimshaw" award for a piece he did. Dean sold the knife before Terril Hoffman, show photographer, could get a picture, so I can't show you the knife, but...

Dean was tickled to win and we were all just as proud of him as we could be.
Congratulations Dean and keep up the good work!
